FACT Falls are the single greatest cause of non-fatal injuries and injury hospitalizations in the state of Washington. In 2006, falls were the leading cause of injury related deaths. Adults age 65 or older had over two thirds of the hospitalized falls and 82% of all fall related deaths. Falls are a major threat to the health and independence of older adults.
