Habitat for
Humanity of Ellensburg needs volunteers to help build
the current house. The following days have shifts
available for individual volunteers and groups. Please
join us in building a simple decent place to live for
the Medina family.
Saturday
June 28th
8:00 am -12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. More
opportunities will be available in July!
HELP! Our
cartridge and cell phone recycling program has grown and
we need additional help. Looking for a volunteer 55 or
older who would like to assist once or twice a month
with picking up cartridges and cell phones from local
businesses and bring them to the RSVP office. Mileage
will be reimbursed. Must have a car and be available
around the first two weeks of each month for about a two

Have you been
searching for a fun community project to get involved
with? The Grab ‘n’ Go Dinner program is an offshoot of
Shape Up Kittitas County. Its goal to increase fruit and
vegetable consumption among county residents, encourage
family mealtimes, and to provide a healthy alternative
to drive-thru meals. Recipes are created to feature
store specials; so, most can be prepared for under $2
per serving and in 30 minutes or less.
Events are held
at Super 1 Foods on the second and fourth Wednesday and
Thursday of each month; from 3 to 5 pm. Super 1 provides
the groceries and prepares the quick, healthy recipes.
Volunteers offer shoppers a taste of the featured meal,
and a free recipe to take home with them. If you would

Gallery One is
looking for a community member who is interested in art
that would assist the Gallery with updating the
volunteer database, volunteer at the gallery and help
organize volunteers for Gallery One events. Please call

The American Red
Cross office in Ellensburg has volunteer office
positions available weekdays, Monday through Friday from
12:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Volunteers would provide customer
service and answer telephones. Please call Jenny Carkner

Dr. Papadopoulos
of Central Washington University is conducting a
research project in collaboration with the University of
Washington and Stanford University to compare the
perceptions of neighborhood factors
( e.g. presence
of sidewalks, access to parks and walking pathways,
safety, traffic, presence of recreational facilities
etc. ) on the physical activity of older adults residing
in urban versus rural environments.
Who can
participate? Women and Men over the age of 65 that
have resided in Kittitas County for at least 6 months.
What
you will be asked to do: One face to face interview
(time commitment: 30 minutes) and wear a monitoring
device for 7 days.

Local artists are needed to volunteer their time
painting wall murals in the new childcare rooms for
Kittitas County Head Start /ECEAP. Please call

The Kittitas
County Heritage Center Board is looking for volunteers.

KVCH has volunteer openings at the
Respiratory Therapy Desk window and in the Espresso Bar
and Gift Shop. Volunteers at the Respiratory Therapy
desk would answer the phones, welcome customers and do
light filing. This position is available Monday through
Friday 8am to 12:30 pm. Additional volunteers are needed
on Tuesday from 11:30-4 pm in the Gift Shop Wednesday or
Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Call Karen Schock,

Volunteers
having clerical and/or receptionist skills are needed at
the Adult Activity Center. Time slots currently
available are Monday-Friday afternoons and Wednesday
mornings. Each shift is 4 hours long and involves
answering phones, documenting messages, providing
information to patrons regarding Center programs. A
warm, friendly personality is required and strong

FISH would like to train volunteers to serve as relief
drivers to pick up baked goods at local stores in the
mornings. Volunteers would serve as relief and backup
drivers in Ellensburg. Volunteers would need a reliable
vehicle, current insurance and driver’s license. Call

The Ellensburg
Meals on Wheels program is looking for a regular
volunteer to deliver meals on Tuesday and Thursdays from
11 a.m. to 12 noon in the Ellensburg area. If interested

Local Quilting group is looking for 2 volunteers to help
with quilts. Volunteers need to be able to stand and
work at a quilting frame. The group meets from 9 am to 2
pm on Wednesdays. Bring a lunch. Call Joan Jeske at

The
Wenas Creek Mammoth Project is looking for volunteers!
Volunteers are needed to sift through sediment looking
for tiny bones and other finds. Volunteers will work in
room 232 of Farrell Hall on the Central Washington
University campus, Fridays and every other Saturday from
10:00am to 2:00pm. Free parking is available. Please

Volunteer Opportunities is
prepared by the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of
Kittitas County. RSVP is a United Way Agency sponsored
by Central Washington University. Volunteers of all ages
